Welcome to shen+tonic

We truly believe that the path of one’s well-being and healing journey begins with a genuine connection with each patient. From there we can uncover the root of the issues and help bring the body and spirit into balance.

In Chinese Medicine, the “Three Treasures” are essential to one’s overall wellbeing and health. These “Three Treasures” are known as Jing (Essence), Qi (vital energy), and Shen (Spirit). Essence is what you are born with, Qi is the vital energy derived from nourishments and shen is one’s spirit or mind which presides over one’s thoughts, emotions, and consciousness.

A healthy shen is vital for optimal health and any imbalances can manifest as anxiety, depression, stress, and other emotional/mental symptoms which leads to physical ailments.

At Shen+Tonic, we believe a balanced shen is just as important as your essence and qi for optimal wellness. We offer acupuncture, herbal medicine, cupping, nutrition, and lifestyle modifications to assist in your healing journey.

We understand healing looks different for everyone. For some, healing starts when they start to feel better from the outside and work inwards. For those we offer facial acupuncture and will soon be offering holistic microneedling.

Meet Myra Kelly

Myra is a board certified Acupuncturist, licensed herbalist, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from University of California, Irvine and owner of Shen+Tonic.

Her quest to become an Acupuncturist was not a linear path coincidentally, symbolic one’s healing journey. Growing up and surrounded by Western Medicine clinicians, her interest in medicine was inevitable although she had no idea which profession to pursue after earning her Bachelor’s degree in Biological Science.

It wasn’t until years later, where she discovered her love of soccer that resulted in many injuries that led her path to Acupuncture and Eastern Medicine.

Myra believes in creating a genuine connection with her patients addressing every level of the human body - physical, emotional and spiritual using a variety of modalities that is personalized to each patient.

Her area of interest includes stress and anxiety, depression, physical injuries/pain, women’s health, digestion issues, cosmetic acupuncture and more recently - holistic micro-needling.
